Green Mountain
United Methodist Church
We offer two way to worship.
You can join us in person at 10:30am.
Or, join us (by clicking here) for online worship at 10:30am on our YouTube Channel.
Our 10:30am service is a blend of traditional and contemporary worship styles. You may enter through the north or west entrances, and you'll find handicapped parking on the west entrance of the church, and an elevator inside to allow those in need to access the sanctuary level. Outside our sanctuary, you'll find folks to greet you and answer any questions you might have. We want you to know that as you walk through our doors, you are welcome and we look forward to meeting you!
WORSHIP SERVICE
People usually arrive a little early and visit in the fellowship area just outside our sanctuary. Our service is typically about an hour in length, and includes a welcome, announcements, children's time (at the 10:30am service) prayers, songs, scripture readings, and a sermon. Our services often have traditional elements woven with more contemporary moments, and music that ranges from classic hymns to gospel and contemporary. Large print bulletins are available on request when you enter the sanctuary, and interpretation for the deaf is also available on request. If you'd like to, you’ll have a chance to greet the people sitting around you, share your joys and concerns, and give to the work of the church.
SERMON
The sermon is a reflection delivered by Pastor Mark (or occasionally a guest preacher) that connects our everyday lives with faith and scripture. We hope what you hear on Sunday will give you something new to think about, help you feel closer to God and a community of faith, and inspire you to live freely, love boldly, and work passionately for justice and peace.
DRESS
Please wear whatever is comfortable for you. You may see folks in suits and dresses, and others in jeans and casual wear. God doesn’t care. Neither do we. Come as you are.
YOUTH, CHILDREN & NURSERY
Sunday School is available for children from preschool through 6th grade during our 10:30am worship. Children begin in worship with their family, and then leave for class following the Children's time. Youth Group meets during worship service at 10:30 in Room 400. We provide nursery care for infants through five-year-olds during worship in Room 404.
COMMUNION
On the first Sunday of every month, we share bread and grape juice as a way of remembering the final meal that Jesus ate with his disciples. We have an open communion table, meaning all who wish to take communion are invited to do so, including children, and participate in receiving the love and grace of Christ. A gluten-free option for bread is available.
