Committees

Each committee meets regularly and is responsible for a specific aspect of the church. We invite you to volunteer to participate in a committee to share your talents.

Care Team - See "Connect & Care - Care Team"

Church Council - All committee chairmen meet monthly to discuss and make decisions affecting the church. 

Endowment - The Endowment Committee decides if endowment funds can be used for  projects meeting the requirement of endowment agreements.

Finance - The Finance Committee prepares the yearly budget, is responsible for tracking the income and paying the expenses of the church,  and makes investment decisions.

Gifts & Memorials - This group receives and acknowledges gifts and decides how to use the funds.

Lay Leadership - This group solicits volunteers for all the committees of the church.

Staff Parish Relations - SPR hires and manages the GMUMC staff.

Trustees - Trustees are responsible for the maintenance of the building and grounds.  They also are responsible for security, insurance, county and state reporting requirements, and fire safety laws.

Worship Committee - The Worship Committee assists the pastor with worship-related items.  They are responsible for scheduling ushers, liturgists, and greeters..

Youth Scholarship - Scholarship awards are given each spring to church youth who are continuing their education at college or trade school.  The committee evaluates application for these awards, and we have currently provided scholarship monies in the total amount of $111,800 to 93 recipients since 1994.  We are proud of our students acomplishments and the support we have provided to our seniors.
