It is hard to believe that this is the last time I will write for the Window on the Hill. The time since I announced my retirement has gone by far too quickly! But in just a few days, Christmas will be behind us, and I’ll be sharing in worship with you for the last time on Sunday, December 29.
Beginning January 1st I will no longer be your pastor. I will no longer officiate at your weddings, funerals, baptisms, etc., but you will always be in my thoughts and prayers. My prayers especially will be with Mark Thurman as he begins his ministry with you. I know that you will welcome him into the life of this wonderful community of faith, just as you welcomed me 71/2 years ago.
May you continue to be a community that understands faith to be a verb—where what we believe is lived out in service and compassion. Continue to be a community that worships together, laughs together, works together, grows together and cares together..
It has been a joy to be in ministry with you—I cannot begin to say thank you sufficiently for the ways in which you have welcomed me, challenged me and helped me to be a better person and follower of Jesus.
Peace, shalom, heiwa, salaam, paix,
